The Whitehorse, on the Hunter Hills, is made from concrete slabs and commemorates the Clydesdale horses which were originally used to break in the land. Waimate boasts several short walks including the Waimate Walkway which leads to the Whitehorse Lookout rewarding walkers breathtaking views over the district. The lookout is also accessible by road. Waimate offers many great tourist spots for you to visit.
